As a woman, I know how little time we have to stay in touch with ourselves, look after our wellbeing and spiritual needs and maintain balance in our lives.

This year we are fortunate to have the annual Seven Sisters Festival ‘staged’ in Bay Park Mt Martha this weekend.

This wonderful festival that promotes health, spirituality, art, music, lifestyle and community, is in it’s second year bringing women together to share life experiences, girlfriend power and workshops that provide inspiration, exploration and fun.

Event Director and Visionary behind the festival Dr Lauren Woodman is amazed at the growing need and interest among women who need time to create space to get in touch with themselves, share their personal journey and learn in a safe and harmonious environment.

During this 3 day festival held between 12 – 14 April 2013 there are over 40 exciting workshops, roving performers, healers, story telling, weaving circles, beautiful art and decor throughout the grounds, delicious food and drink, roaring fires and soul inspiring music.

Lauren spoke with host Steve on his Soul 2 Soul program on RPP FM this Monday to discuss the festival, it's origins and activities.

The ancient story behind the Seven Sisters is one of spirit and care women have for one another and the need to join forces to support each other. As the myth unwinds two women find refuge in the sky taking the form of seven stars that are known to us as the constellation of Pleiades… it’s a fascinating piece of mythical narration.

Dr Woodman expresses, “I love seeing women in their power, expressing themselves in their truth and courageously following their dreams. It's been such an inspiring and rewarding journey to create a space for women to safely & joyously explore, learn, adventure and just be themselves. It was also very heart warming to see the ripples of transformation that spread as a result of that space and to watch how women, connect, support & encourage each other. I hope this event will allow you to drop in deeply, dance joyous and love openly. Thank you for sharing in the magic.”

Come and join us for a nourishing and uplifting weekend away to honour you!
